About Sudak Sudak (in the Medieval centuries called Sugdeya, Surozh, Soldaya) is located on the Black Sea coast in the South-Eastern part of the Crimea, 100km. away from Simferopol. To move about the city you may use public buses or taxi.
Sudak is also the centre of the Crimean vintage and champagne wine production. But staying in Sudak is not only pleasant-it is also useful as there are 15 health resorts there including 3 sanatoriums, 7 boarding houses, 1 tourist health complex and 4 recreation centers. Sudak places of interest include the Museum of book publishing, the “Genoese Fortress” museum, the State Botanical Wildlife Preserve, such historical and architectural memorials as “Genoese Fortress” state architectural and historical reserve (XI-XV centuries); a complex of monuments of the 19th – beginning of the 20th centuries, connected with the activity of prince L.Golitsyn, Funk's Residence (XIX century) and much more.
