TRI (The Region Initiative) is a network of tourism-related companies represented by 13 countries of South Asia, Central Asia and Eastern Europe which are united into National Tourism Organisation (NTO, two Inter-governmental Organisations, six NGOs and eight private tourism stakeholders).
Networking of Responsible Tourism Organisations under the banner of TRI connects the member-companies geograpgically along the ancient Silk Route (or Silk Road) destinations into a tourism entity, which is one of the goals of TRI. The organisation supports UNWTO Silk Road Plan/Programme and works to promote development of tourism in the regions connecting Europe and Asia.
