Have you ever had a chance to find yourself being a character of a fairy tale? The floor, the ceiling, the walls of a magical castle, and then outside - white trees, white road, white shadows….

Then you would go somewhere deep under the ground. At the depth of 300 meters, there is a strange, unusual view. In the lights of numerous torches the white walls glitter like snow. But it is not cold and it is not winter. This is a salt mine! A very old one – it was formed about 250 mln. years ago. Scientists determined this age recently, and found out that the salt was formed in the place of the ancient sea, which had been full of salted water on the territory of modern Donetsk oblast. Now, there is a tourist and health resort here, which more and more attracts attention of Ukrainians and foreign visitors from all over the World.

Salt is everywhere and in every thing there. Salt created this image of fairy tale in the mind of each visitor, due to the unusual whiteness of the whole landscape of this area.

Many groups of tourists visit this unique place every year. The atmosphere is really enigmatic. There is a hall, where symphonic and chamber music is played. Concerts, called “Salt Symphony” of domestic and foreign orchestras are represented here. There are very few theaters, which can compete with Artemovsky salt mine in quality of acoustics!

People with health problems can take a course of treatment here.
