Day of Europe in Kyiv

On May, 11 Kyiv has celebrated the Day of Europe. It was the sixth festival of this kind in the capital of Ukraine. In the context of the celebration Ukrainians had an opportunity to get acquainted with lifestyles and traditions of 27 countries of Europe.

The citizens of Kyiv and the guests had a chance to try national cuisines and to watch documentaries about historical sights and architecture of different European countries. It was available in numerous (about 60) demonstrational tents, representing European countries, along Khreshatik street. In the evening, at the Independence Square, visitors also enjoyed a rock concert performed by the Ukrainian, Lithuanian, and Italian rock bands.

The Minister of foreign affairs of Ukraine, Vladimir Ogryzko, opening the celebration, has called it “a festival of communication”.
