Fortetsia Festival will be held from June, 27 to June, 30 in Bilhorod-Dnistrovsky, Odessa oblast. The festival will be placed in the unique medieval Bilhorod-Dnistrovsky Fortress, which is more than 2000 years old. The organizers of the festival want to attract more attention of visitors, tourists, and sponsors to the Bilhorod-Dnistrovsky’s open air monument. Young musicians will perform along with the well-known bands on the big main stage of the festival. This year’s participators are DesPoruch, TNMK, Dazzle Dreams Pavlo Hudimov, Piatiy Ugol, and others. Besides these shows, the disco dancing on the beach, artistic shows in various genres, and volleyball  games will take place.


In July 12 -14 the music life will move to Vorobyevka village of Vinnytskaya oblast, where the International Sheshory Ethnic Music Festival and land-art festival will be held. The program will feature performers from Ukraine, Russia, UK, Georgia, Poland, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Hungary, France, Germany and Sweden.

On July 12 expect Bai (Hutsul region), Anchiskhati (Georgia), Chopova Krynytsia (Podillya), Folk Now (Sweden/Ukraine), Village Quartet (Poland), Nourou (France), Propala Gramota (Ukraine).

On July 13: Kryachkivka (Poltava), Guda (Belarus), Berehynia (Podillya), Maraca (Czech Republic), Kharkiv-Klezmer-Band (Germany/Ukraine), Ghymes (Hungary/Slovakia), Pupet-show Lisen (Czech Republic).

On July 14: Strila, Derbeniovka (Russia), Skiffle-group of Preorky village, Gudaky, DakhaBrakha, Trans-global Underground (UK/France), Perkalaba, and Modern Arts Center “DAKH.”

Besides authentic folk and world music concerts also there are expected nighttime performances, open-air galleries, numerous workshops, documentary film showings, getting acquainted with various musical instruments.

A ticket to attend the event will cost 50 hrn ($10) for all concerts of the 3-day long musical event. You will be given a colored wristband which is a pass to the fest zone, the tent locality,  concerts, workshops, performances and the cinema hall. The 75 hrn.  ticket ($15) will allow you to visit different other festival events during the year with discounts for tickets and CDs.
Ticket for 5 hrn. includes attending only the concerts, without opportunities to live in the camp, attending the workshops and the cinema.


One of the oldest Ukrainian rock Taras Bulba Festival will be held in Dubno town, Rovnenskaya oblast in July, 18. The festival will continue for 3 days. And there will be presented only Ukrainian music. Most of Ukrainian well known rock-performers started their career on Taras Bulba festival. Mariya Burmaka, Karina Play, Ruslana, Plach Eremiyi, performed on the festival at different years as the beginners.


Slavske Rock Festival will be held from July, 25 to July, 27 in Slavske, Lvivska oblast. Participants from 8 countries will attend the festival this year. The program of the festival includes open air activities, sports competitions, artistic shows, ecological events and musical concerts.
During the festival competitions in tourism-oriented sports are expected - horseback riding, mountain biking under the supervision of professional trainers, also the exhibitions of modern Ukrainian and foreign artists. The man goal of the festival is to popularize Ukrainian rock music, promote active recreation, and nvolve the youth into the solution of ecological issues of the
Carpathian Mountains region. The promotion of nature preservation ideas, activities directed at environment protection and healthy lifestyle will become highlighted events on the festival.

Rock groups from Ukraine, Belarus, Poland, Germany, Hungary are going to give concerts during the Slavske Festival. The headliners are The Ukrainians (Great Britain), 100 C (Czech Republic), La Skarnemurta (Italy), Giri (Sweden), Koniec Swiata (Poland), Direct-T (Turkey), Mamasweed (Germany), Farben Lehre (Poland) and Ukrainian bands Mertviy Piven, Chilibombers, Propala Hramota, Faino, and Green silence. Ticket feeis 25 hrn for the three days of festival, including living in tent village and free CD as a present to every guest.


On the same days, from July, 25 till July, 27, the Pidkamen Ethno Festival  will have place in Pidkamen village, Lvivska oblast. The program of the festival includes fire shows, Cossack games, knight tournaments, sport competitions, tasting of local cuisine, exhibitions of traditional handcrafts, rock-climbing lessons, literary court at coffee house Cabinet, children playgrounds and a variety of folk gigs. The Festival’s performers are Komu Vnyz, Gudaky, Drymba Da Dzyha, Liudy Dobri, Lomaha’s Band, Hutsul Calipso,  Zamkova Tin,Orchestra VITO, Polina Viardo, Propala Hramota, Tarasova Nich, TIK.
You may take the residence with local dwellers for 15-25 hrn per day ($3-$5) or place your tent on the territory of the festival for free.


The third annual Rock festival Pro Rock will start in Konotop village, Sumskaya oblast. The festival will last from August, 2 to August, 3. Participators of the festival are expected from Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova and Russia. The ticket fee is 10 hrn for the entry on the festival.


One of the loudest parties in the world, Kazantip, will last  from July, 26 till August, 30.  KaZantip is called a Z-republic with no geographical boundaries. Its boundary goes on the mental level and is determined individually for everyone. the Z republic is the biggest, the longest, the craziest and the most amazing techno, trance and domestic music event, which attract people from all over the World.  Kazantip is located on the sandy beach directly on the Black Sea in Popovka village, Crimea. 

From midnight till 8 am, everybody dances. By 9 am z-people leave the dance floor for the beach and sleep. The sturdiest play volleyball or go on dancing as music is heard around the clock. At 5 pm the music ceases slowly and the Republic becomes peaceful and quite. And at sunset the another Kazantip’s day starts.

The Kazantip Z-Republic is something more than a wild dancing rhythm, and alcohol for breakfast, which also features 5-minute marriages, steep prices, cold winds at nights, and topless girls on the beach. Kazantip is better seen than described. 

The nights are accompanied with music of the most renowned DJs in the world. This year participants are Trentemoller, Sven Vath, Richie Hawtin, Armin Van Buuren, John Digweed, Chemical Brothers, Paul Van Dyk, Sasha, Carl Cox, Laurent Garnier, Infected Mushroom, Deep Dish, Fatboy Slim, Daft Punk. 

The entry Is granted to those who can show a multipass, which costs a one-off fee of 120 US dollars (2007 price) and is valid for the entire duration of your stay, be it one week or six weeks.
