Ukrainian weekly Newspaper Correspondent has announced the top twenty travel routes in Ukraine. The experts in tourist industry, though, emphasize that some of the well-known and well-publicized tours are not included in this list.

The most popular tours usually take from 1 to 3 days. The routs include different kinds of activities which are very popular among Ukrainians: bicycling, walking, jeep driving, rafting and horseback riding.

The top twenty of the most interesting roots in Ukraine are:

- Askaniya Nova nature preserve, Kherson region
- Ghosts Valley (Demerdzhy Mountain in Crimea)
- Ethnographical tour about the Gutsul’s land (Kolomiya – Kosov – Kosmach – Krivorovnya – Verkhovyna)
- Stone graves in Terpeniye village, Zaporizhzhya oblast
- Sacred places of cabbala (Uman – Stargorod –Medzhybish)
- Stanislavo-Adghygolsky Beacon, Kherson oblast
- Mountain observatory (Pop-Ivan Mountain in Ivano-Frankivsk oblast)
- Catacombs in Odessa
- Walking trip from Partenit to Gurzuf, Crimea
- Crimean Cave cities (Chufut-Kale, Mangup-Kale)
- Rafting tour down the Dnister River, Ternopil oblast
- Rocket mines and canyon in Pobugskoye village of Kirovohrad oblast and Voznesensk town in Nikolayev oblast)
- Salt mines in Soledar and Svyatogorsk Monastery Complex, Donetsk oblast
- The Salty lakes in Solotvino, Zakarpattya oblast
- Ostrich Farm in Yasnogorodka village, Kiev oblast
- Defense Fortification in Dubno, Rivno oblast
- Bicycle tour (Gusyatin – Sidorov – Gabintsy – Dacha Galilleya – Yagilnitsa – Chertkov, Ternopil oblast)
- Ukrainian rural Venice (Belgorod-Dnestrovsky – Vilkovo – delta of Danube, Odessa oblast)
- Vine tour (Beregovo – Kidyosh – Mukachevo – Bobovische – Uzhgorod – Kontsovo, Zakarpattya oblast)

Quite a few of other wonderful sightseeing places were not included into the top twenly list, but it is a well-known fact that many tourists prefer to combine visiting a number of places in one visit. Many excursion tours have become so popular due to their convenient location near large cities or just close to a significant highway. Lots of local Ukrainians prefer to travel by available means of transport (trains or buses); only a few take trips by their own cars. Thus, the most frequently visites places are those which are easily reached by bus.

Recently, new kinds of tourism have started to grow more popularity – photography tourism, fishing tourism, cycling, horseback riding and even jeep riding. These are only available in a number of regions so far, and one needs to take care of all the trip arrangements by himself. Most of the local travel companies only provide the transportation and hardly care about any other additional services.
