19 paintings of 13 modern Ukrainian artists were sold at one of the most prestigious and famous auction houses – Sotheby’s. The auction called “Modern Art of Russia and Ukraine” was first experience of this sort for Ukrainian painters. Sotheby’s agents are working with Russia for a long time Ukraine however had never been presented on the auction before. Sotheby’s experts selected 13 painters from thousands of candidates. In overall, the paintings from Ukraine collected about 200 English pounds. According to one of the action experts, the presented paintings were impressing with symbolism and figurativeness of the Ukrainian school.
