According to a media survey, the capital of Western Ukraine's tourism, the city of Lviv has become the first city in the top list of the best Ukrainian cities to live in. The annual rating of “The Best Cities for Life” provided by Mass Media event called Resource Focus, evaluated the cities of Ukraine by a number of factors, such as ecological safety, city utilities, municipal economy, and also life conditions in crisis and the prognosis for future development.
Recently, Lviv has become increasingly popular among relocating families as having a higher business potential, which harmonically coincides with its educational and cultural life; it also offers its citizens a number of opportunities to self-realize. Being an old historical center, it also accepts the largest number of tourists among all foreign tourists who visit Ukraine.
The cities Kiev, Kharkiv, Odessa, Dnepropetrovsk, Yalta are also listed among the best cities to live in. Odessa is noted for having the lowest unemployment rate, Kharkiv is famous for its highest educational potential and very young average population age (due to numerous students living there). Yalta is recognized as the city with the most developed infrastructure of establishments for children, schools and hospitals. Among the smaller cities with population less than 50,000, the cities Truskavets and Mirgorod were selected as the best family vacation and recreation cities. Kolomiya is the safest Ukrainian city, Chernihiv is the most ecologically clean, and Mariupol has less expensive real estate, where the prices are 4 times lower than in Kiev.
