At the distance of just 10 km from Yalta you can enjoy the harmony of the Yusupov palace-park complex that appeared in Koreiz due to the creative talent of an outstanding Russian architect - I.P.Krasnov. The palace was built for one of the most famous aristocratic dynasties of Russia – the Yusupovs.

The palace was designed in the neoromanticism style using the elements of the Italian Renascence. Entrances, stairs and arcs are decorated with the sculptures of lions and the characters of the ancient Greek mythology. All that is works of Italian and German masters of the end of the 19th century. From all sides the palace is surrounded by relic trees and tiny pools.

The palace park is a prominent example of a landscape architecture created by a famous gardener  of the ninetieth century Karl Kebah. It covers the territory of 16, 5 hectares. There are more than 200 sorts of decorative trees and bushes. The summer heat is relieved by the coolness of various palace fountains, nourished by mountain streams.

Prince Felix Yusupov, Count Sumarkov-Elston, was Governor – General of Moscow, and his son, Felix Yusupov Jr., went down in history in connection with his active participation in the attempt upon Rasputin’s life.
In the autumn of 1912, a betrothal of Felix Yusupov Jr. with the Grand Princess Irene Alexandrovna, niece of Czar Nikolas II took place in the palace.

In 1945, during the Yalta conference of leaders of the three nations against German fascism, the Yusupov palace was the residence of the Soviet delegation headed by Joseph Stalin.

Today it is one the most attractive places to rest in silence and coolness of the luxurious park on the picturesque slopes of the Crimean mountains.
