Safe trip to Ukraine

There are a few howto rules about traveling to Ukraine which can protect you against any unpleasant situations. To stay safe during your trip, simply follow these rules:

- keep your documents and money in a really safe inside pocket, and never take it out in public places like metro, transportation stations, stores or in the streets;

- never display big sums of money in public places;

- always carry your passport with you and never give it to anyone, whatever they say;

- try to remain in touch with someone local who you can trust, and ask this person to negotiate for you in every situation when you need some services;

- it is good to keep a local cell phone which you can use each time when you need information or explanations about local lifestyle or services; use it frequently to connect with someone you can trust;

- avoid walking through empty streets or parks alone in the dark time of the night;

- if you are about to take a taxi ride, negotiate the cost of the trip with the driver before you get into the car (or ask someone you can trust to do this for you);

- if you are staying in a rented apartment, do not open the door to a stranger; ask everybody who wants to visit you to call you by phone in advance and to let you know when to expect them;

- at stations and public places try not to leave your luggage out of sight even for a very short time;

- when in crowded and actively visited places, always stay alert and active.

These simple rules can be very helpful when you are traveling by yourself and don't know the local language.

We wish you good luck and have lots of fun during your trip!
