Due to being one of the four Ukrainian cities accepting games of the upcoming Euro-2012 football championship, Kharkov (Ukrainian transliteration: Kharkiv) is becoming more attractive as a tourist city. Besides having the large European-style stadium that has just been renewed for the big sport event, the city's center is improving very quickly - roads revewed, tourist iunfrastructure woking to improve services, and a new 5 stars hotel is being constructed right in the center of the city, just facing Lenin's monument.

The city has never been a tourist attraction before, as the main focus of it's activity has always been trade; in the Soviet time it became strongly industrial, and today, when the monstrously huge plants of the Soviet time (the tanks-producing plant, turbine plant, tractor plant, electrical mechanisms plant, a number of other machinery plants) are no longer working in their full power, the city's eco-statistics has grown up a few times. 

The city is often called the greenest city of the country, it's emblem confirms this as it depicts the horn of plants encarved on the green background. This is true - the sity stands on the most productive soils that have no equivalents in the whole world, so recently its economy has been growing strongly agricultural.

Today, visitors of the city can attend a number of sightseeing excursions, take wonderful walks about the city center, enjoy the freshness of its parks, and what's really precious - attend  really numerous restaurants, cafes, sport clubs, spa and recreation salons, night-life establishments and other places of leisure industry,  the choice of which is becoming really plentiful.

One does not need to wait till the Euro football championship to enjoy hospitality of Kharkov  A visit of a week or so can become a really great change from your traditional lifestyle. So do not hesitate to visit Kharkov, especially because the timetable of the city's recently renewed airport offers more and more new incoming flights each month.
